Overclocking a processor in Zebronics zx-945-15 motherboard

Hey guys!

I was once a noobie(short and teasing form for newbie) who wanted to overclock his cpu which was an intel pentium 4 on zebronic's zx-945-15 motherboard(mobo).

I surfed the web for hundreds of hours to get my cpu overclocked(oc).

First, I came to know that normally, the cpu is overclocked from the bios.

Then where?

I searched more.

I got it that the Front Side Bus(FSB) frequency had to be increased in order to oc it.

But alas! The bios in my mobo did havthe option "CPU Configuration", but the option for increasing the FSB frequency was greyed out.

Then what??

I searched more.

I searched for bios updates everywhere, but no avail. This mobo manufacturer didn't have updates on its website's download section. I tried to use Bios Agent Plus but it too didn't work.

Then, I searched even more.

I stumbled upon a web page which gave me the idea for oc'ing it via the jumper settings.

This time, I got extremely happy.

The next day, I googled on how to overclock the cpu using jumper settings in zx-945-15.

I got the idea.

Then I tried it out on my computer. I changed the FSA, FSB and the FSC. Tried different combinations, but got it to work in only two settings:

1. With the original settings, and

2. With custom settings which slowed my computer even down(from 533mhz to 400mhz fsb).

At first, it was at 2400Mhz and after the customisation, it went down to 1800Mhz.

This made me look at my computer and think of buying a new processor.

I also searched in how to set my FSB from within windows, but every program I downloaded, failed.

So, if you are looking for a mobo which would be ample for gaming, I would NOT recommend an intel derived mobo or a zebronics mobo or even an intel processor. Intel products are a waste of money.

Instead, I would recommend you to buy an Asus mobo with an Amd Phenom II X2 or X4 and later unlock the extra hidden cores in the processor using Asus's core unlocker option in bios.

I would also recommend you an Ati Radeon HD 5450 WITH the Asus mobo and AMD phenom II X2/X4.

    Final Verdict:

A processor in a zx-945-15 mobo cannot be overclocked and it sucks!

No bios update, no proper customer care and all!
Buy my recommendation if you want nice gameplay in a nice budget.

:::UPDATE:::
New config. for Entry Level Gaming:
AMD A4/A8/A10 processor,
Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-DS2 Motherboard,
Corsair DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM
(ALL Available at Flipkart)

This combo is good even without a discrete graphics card and performs way better than intel solutions in the same price... DO NOT get caught by retailer who try to sell old g41 chipsets/motherboards with cheap "intel pentium d"s or slow "core 2 duo"s.

The a-series in amd processors have high grade integrated graphics HD 7000 series(with a4/a8/a10 - 5000 series) or HD 8000 series(with a4/a8/a10 - 6000 series) graphics, so, it will get most game titles to play in at least medium settings... Go for it!!
